"Alison Peebles has long been one of Scotland's premier actresses, consistently interesting and defying of convention.

A founder of Communicado Theatre Company with Gerry McGrew and Rob Pickavance, Alison's spirit and intelligence helped shape that company, as she created parts in original productions of "Carmen" and Liz Lochead's "Mary Queen of Scots got her head chopped off." No one will ever forget her as Ines De Castro or as lady Macbeth opposite Iain Glen.

As a theatre director she set up V.amp productions to bring John Steinbeck's rare "Burning Bright" to the Tramway.  Last  year her sell out Tron prduction if Chris Hannan's "Shining Souls" earned her the Scottish Critics Award for Best Production.

Over the last two years she has made forays into the film world, directing two shorts by Colin Hough, "Nan" with a spellbinding Una Maclean and "Tangerine", about a marriage lived in the shadow of the Forth Road Bridge."

John Binnie, The List.

Her latest project is the highly acclaimed "Afterlife", an emotive film dealing with Down's Syndrome and  written by friend and colleague, Andrea Gibb and performed by Paula Sage, herself a sufferer.

"Andrea has experience of Down's syndrome.  Anyone who read the script felt is was very accurate in its portrayal. Paula had never acted before.  She's a complete natural, so bright and quick and very different from the character she portrays on screen.
